Event honors the victims of the intercostal slave trade. TybeeMLK is working with local government to create memorial makers and public information areas to commemorate those who where forced through the Tybee LAZARETTO.
Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration of the end of slavery in the United States.
In 2021 Juneteenth was declared a national holiday.

November is National Native American Heritage Month.
